CUTTING-EDGE DIAGNOSTIC LAB TESTS

Guiding you out of the symptom maze.

Fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression, digestive problems, unexplained weight gain, low sex drive, chronic pain, menopause struggles…the list of symptoms goes on.  Numerous health complaints can be relieved, if not resolved, through unique Integrative Medicine testing and therapy.

It’s Simple and Convenient.

Diagnostic testing is an important part of holistic medical care and helps with making a proper diagnosis. I believe testing—rather than just guessing—about what’s going on with your health is important to help me take better care of you.

These cutting-edge tests involve testing samples of saliva, stools, blood and urine. They are used to diagnose a condition— often before symptoms appear— and can help predict future health conditions.  With the results, we can carefully plan your treatment and evaluate your response to treatment.

What Do Lab Tests Show?

Testing results provide a variety of useful information. I believe in treating you, rather than the numbers on a paper.  Blood tests will show your results and then provide accepted “normal” ranges that have been established by the lab.  While labs can reveal a lot of information,  sometimes a person’s symptoms do not correlate with the ranges we get from a lab.  It’s all about “function”— how your body feels.

Lab results need to be interpreted within the context of your overall health. This is why it’s important for us to gather as much information about how you’re feeling, so we can make the best decisions about guiding you back to health.

Once we have your results, I will contact you and schedule a follow up appointment. We will then sit down and I will explain the findings – I want you to understand what the tests say, what I am thinking, and review possible treatment options for your best overall health outcome.

Unique Integrative Medicine Tests

– Adrenal Stress Profiles

Identify the impact of chronic stress on your body and the underlying dynamic of your health complaints.  Abnormal adrenal rhythm can influence chronic stress and related health problems such as lack of vitality and energy, muscle and joint pain, hypoglycemia, thyroid dysfunction, low body temperature, and low sex drive.

This profile will offer a window into your core state of health.  It includes a cortisol rhythm with DHEA sulfate to determine the stage of adrenal fatigue, sex hormone insufficiency; evaluating progesterone, testosterone, and the estrogens and melatonin and nighttime cortisol to help with evaluation of sleep problems.

– Comprehensive Digestive Analysis

Gastrointestinal function is critical for good health. In fact, digestive complaints are among the most common reasons that individuals seek medical care.  The intestinal tract contains significant amounts of bacteria which, when imbalanced, is associated with a wide variety of common illnesses such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Autoimmune Disorders and Diabetes.

Additionally, balancing gut microbiota is key for improving core gastrointestinal functions, such as digestion and absorption of nutrients, as well as metabolic functions. Poor digestion and malabsorption may impact immune function, optimum nutritional status, and mood.

This test provides information using advanced biomarkers that evaluate digestion, absorption, pancreatic function, and inflammation, in addition to bacterial balance, yeast, and parasite infection.

Other Tests Available:

How Are Samples Collected?

Saliva & Stool Testing: You will be sent home with a kit and collect the sample at home, then mail to the laboratory.

Standard blood tests: I will send you to have your blood drawn at a lab facility.

Other blood tests: You will be given a kit at my clinic. You will then take this kit to a facility that will draw your blood, and then they will send the blood to the testing lab. Once your results are available, the lab sends them to me.
