NUTRITION
Our bodies are literally built upon the foundation of what we eat: nutrition represents the backbone of our health.
Nutritional medicine is based on one simple underlying principle: no matter what may feel out of balance in our bodies, the right food and nutrients are always required to restore, maintain, and reach our optimal state of health.
It is known that the majority of our immune cells are found in the wall of our small intestines. This shows the tremendous influence of what we eat on all diseases – especially those in which the immune system is malfunctioning.
The food we eat may be our best medicine.
However, in today’s society, it is rare to get all of the nutrients required for us to function in a state of optimal health. With the pressures and time constraints of our lifestyles, most of us do not always prepare our own meals, and even when we do, we may not have the time to fully ensure that we are meeting our required daily allowances of vitamins and minerals each day.
Even the most nutrition-minded individuals may not be eating in sync with their bodies’ needs. The way in which the foods are grown and processed is very different than it was 100 years ago. Greater demands are made on soil and on farmers, making the soil in which crops are grown often depleted of the vital nutrients that it once supplied to food. Pesticides further degenerate food quality and are ingested when we eat, making us toxic.
I consider nutritional medicine to be one of the first lines of treatment to improve any condition.
In today’s world, it has become imperative to our health that we consider including high-quality nutritional supplements to our daily regimens. I use only the highest-quality, most bio-available supplements that can be completely absorbed and utilized by your body.
