Talks, workshops and events are a great way to promote health and wellness, especially to a workforce affected by stress and stress-related illnesses.
Since I am passionate about education, I love to speak to employees and audiences about what it takes to create a healthy body from the inside out. I believe in proactive vs. reactive healthcare and promote a model of medicine focused on preventing illness. By incorporating Chinese medicine with the latest discoveries in preventive health science from Western medicine, health can move from “sick care” to true “wellness care.”
Worksite wellness programs are a great investment in a company’s most important asset– the workers. Research has shown that employees are more likely to come to work and perform well when they are in optimal physical and psychological health. There are less sick days, time lost, increased productivity and better morale. Employees are also more likely to be attracted to, remain with, and value a business that appreciates them.

How does it work?
Participants will be seated around a table and relax in their chairs. Hair-thin acupuncture needles are placed on specific points on each ear. The ears are chosen because they are easily accessible and the whole body is represented in the ear, therefore, the whole body can be treated just from the ear. The sessions last 40-50 minutes and will focus on reducing stress. If you have never tried acupuncture, this is a great introduction. And no, it doesn’t hurt!
Why Auricular Acupuncture?
Auricular Acupuncture (acupuncture on the ears) is effectively used to treat a variety of stress conditions, addictions, smoking cessation and weight loss. The points used are known have a dramatic effect on brain chemistry. They balance the nervous system and influence the three primary detox organs of the body. These points are also known to increase the release of endorphins– your bodies “feel good” hormones that influence the immune, hormonal and emotional systems.
Auricular acupuncture is used regularly to treat military veterans and service personnel for PTSD and to help those suffering the effects of trauma or survivors in the aftermath of disasters. All groups report benefits such as reduced anxiety, lower stress responses, more peaceful sleep, greater mental clarity and overall greater well-being.
